My worry is that we pro-sovereignty folks aren’t taking into consideration enough that, like the late eighteen hundreds, rich, despotic people are determined to undermine and nationalistic movement. can we directly address that problem?
A big Mahalo to all who attended! I was just an attendee, but it was exciting to hear all the areas of interest, passion, and concern. I do want to say that sometimes, and it’s understandable, that as a “Hawaiian of British descent” red hair, blue eyes, and a sunburn magnet, I feel left-out as the mantra (Native?) Hawaiian, Kanaka Maoli is repeated as a basis for distrust, anger, justifiable hewa, and model for the future of Hawai’i. Perhaps, it’s just my imagination or projection upon others, E kala mai ia’u, but the Hawaiian Kingdom is a place of inclusion of all ethnicities to become Subjects-can’t wait to sign on the dotted line-however, I am not going to sit by with my hat in hand but step up to the plate with my ‘Ohana Hawai’i to move forward to freedom from the Occupation by the US however long, some have estimated 7 years, the transition takes. Again, big Mahalo! The above is offered with heartfelt malie.
