Akaka Bill - garbage at its best

In a Maui News letter Gaby Gouveia says "I've been following the garbage Akaka Bill poll in The Maui News. I am so glad to see that the opposition is gaining on those in favor. I'm positive that the majority of those who voted for this garbage Akaka Bill are guessing, misinformed or throwing darts in the dark."

No Hawaiian or one who is Hawaiian at heart and in his or her right mind would read this garbage and vote for it. Or maybe he or she is an educated American and understands that if this garbage passes, the Hawaiians will be spending all of their revenues in the courts trying to prove to the U.S. Department of Interior that we are capable of handling our own affairs and natural resources. Also, that we are not discriminating against people of other nationalities.

The poll that The Maui News is sponsoring is bogus! To have a legitimate poll, The Maui News should first print the garbage Akaka Bill that OHA has spent $2.3 million of the Hawaiian people's money pushing for this crap. This will give its readers a chance to read it and get a true understanding of this very very important issue that, whichever way it goes, will change the future of Hawaii.

I challenge The Maui News to give the people a real view of garbage at its best.
