Aloha March for Independence in California

Sunday's Aloha March in San Leandro, CA, was covered by several Bay Area papers and picked up by news wires.

First, the press release sent out by Koani Foundation got picked up by PRNewswire and Yahoo News. The March itself was covered in the Contra Costa Times, and this AP article appeared in both the San Francisco Chronicle and the San Jose Mercury News, with the online headline "Hawaiians march for an independent state." There was a brief mention in the California State University, Long Beach, Online 49er. Here in Hawaii the march was covered briefly by KHNL News 8, as well as other TV stations.

The articles all seem to be pretty accurate and fair, and get across some important points, including the emphasis on independence versus federal recognition, and the fact that citizenship is not based on race.

Mahalo and congratulations to 'Ehu Cardwell and Koani Foundation for organizing the march! Visit 'Ehu's Free Hawaii Blog for more info.

If anyone is aware of other coverage please let me know.
