Naliko Markel - Kingdom of Hawaii, 'The Voice of Hawaiian Freedom'

From the Maui Booksellers calendar...

On Saturday, April 29TH at 4:00PM, Maui Booksellers welcomes Naliko Markel, the Kingdom of Hawaii's Minister of the Interior, for an informative talk called 'The Voice of Hawaiian Freedom.'

The Kingdom of Hawaii is the reinstated democratic government that is preparing a World Court case to confirm its legitimacy. Naliko's lively presentation will cover the history of Hawaiian sovereignty and the vision for the future of Hawaii after the Reinstatement confirmation.

'It's sobering to know that the main reason the McKinley administration annexed Hawaii way back in 1898 was to secure it as a refueling stop in time of war. Now America is in another fuel war. There are some ironic parallels between the two times."

The Kingdom of Hawaii has followed international law to reinstate a legitimate, democratically elected legislature that exists on all islands and is building a citizen base and providing them with basic governmental services. The reinstated Kingdom of Hawaii is committed to due process, non-violence and to the inclusive spirit of aloha.
