JACL convention should look at all sovereignty sides


A letter in the Advertiser, Kekuni Blaisdell, Lynette Cruz, Ikaika Hussey, Terri Keko'olani, Noenoe Silva, Jon Osorio and Vicky Holt Takamine, while recognizing the Japanese American Citizens League for adopting resolutions prior to 1993 in support of the continuing call for Hawaiian sovereignty that helped bring attention to the cause, criticize the organization for presenting "only one controversial perspective on Hawaiian sovereignty — the pro-Akaka bill perspective" — at their national convention in Honolulu this week. The writers point out many problems with the Akaka Bill.
