Native Hawaiian Cultural Trademark Study 2006
The Native Hawaiian Trademark Study is a seven month long process to determine the need for, and parameters of, a cultural trademark program for distinguishing authentic Native Hawaiian cultural arts. The study is proceeding in two phases. Four public information meetings for Native Hawaiian artisans will be held in January and February of 2006, on O’ahu, Hawai’i, Maui, and Kaua’i. The January 14th session at Kamakakuokalani, will launch the study and begin the dialogue.

Native Hawaiian Arts Survey
The PA’I Foundation & ‘Ilio’ulaokalani Coalition are partnering to conduct a needs assessment survey of native Hawaiian artists and cultural practitioners; this survey is separate from the trademark study, but will include trademark questions for the study. Artists desiring to complete this survey and give video interviews should join us for the 10am to 12pm session on January 14th. For more information, please contact Vicky Holt Takamine at 754-2301.
