Hale Ku'ai for cultural demonstrations
Last Sunday the Kipahulu 'Ohana hosted a blessing
for our Hale Ku'ai at Alaeiki. It is located near the visitor center in the
Kipahulu district of Haleakala National Park, just by the trail that leads down
to the famous Pools of 'Ohe'o. The hale will serve as a center for demonstration
of traditional Hawaiian crafts and practices, and for sales of authentic craft
and agricultural items produced by local residents. Here folks enjoy the pa'ina
afterwards in the shade of the hale.
