One could look at this several ways, of course, firstly that a statement that any land here in Hawai’i is not part of the US is a plus, as it dimly reflects the truer statement that the whole of Ko Pai ‘Aina is not the US and has never been so, and is under occupation. Secondly, that the TV show is going as far as it can to state that some land in Hawai’i is not the US and thereby introducing that limited truth to its viewing audience. (BTW isn’t the Kamehameha Monument in Hawai’i Island England?) Third, that it means very little that it’s massaging the viewing public to accept the idea of Hawaiian “Indians” in their small parcel of land. I don’t think a mediocre TV show can truly express the gravity of the Occupation and the Genocide that has occured and is occurring.

So is there really a section that is recognized by US as sovereign area not in US

Oh Christopher…really? Genocide currently occurring??? It is far better to report real facts instead of alternate facts, to better educate we less informed. I just googled Hawai’i and the topic of such sovereignty issues…I was not aware of such issues until I watched the “mediocre” TV show of which you referred…so maybe this show is not at mediocre as you allege…if it inspired at least one person, such as I, who lives in Florida to investigate. Maybe try encouraging ANY means to educate (even “mediocre TV shows”) than look for the half-empty glass…as far as “current genocide”??? That must be a very well kept secret, unless you are being figurative, and mean in a societal killing of traditional values and customs? Even so, use real terminology, not inflammatory verbiage to make a point, otherwise you lose the potential of a valuable audience.
